Wisdom
Don’t underestimate wisdom. Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.
Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great.
Embrace her, and she will honor you. She will place a lovely wreath on your head;
she will present you with a beautiful crown.”
Our Messy Lives
I must admit I’ve caused a few messes myself in life…and not one was fun. They did cause me to grow in character, but ouch. Stuff was thrown all around and other people caught got up in my mess too. It wasn’t pretty. But, thankfully, messes don’t have to last. They can become part of our past, if we bring God into the situation. Continue reading
Don’t Settle for the Metal
I’ve always been an achiever and pretty much have reached all my goals with few surprises along the way. But, this finding a husband thing, is the one thing I haven’t been able to achieve. It keeps eluding me no matter how much I try. And that drives me nuts. I just don’t get it.
Light of the World
God is teaching me some really rich things at the moment- so personally rich that I can’t explain what he teaching me with mere words. But, through my cleansing, much healing and new thinking is being born. It’s like a beautiful meteor shower. All these incredible things just keep whizzing by my brain – and it’s a beautiful light show. Continue reading
Resilience
I attended a job search workshop and our guest speaker for the day is someone who calls himself a “change coach.” He truly embraces that there’s one thing certain in our lives and that is “change.” He went on further to tell us that the sooner we can embrace this reality, the better it will be for us. And at the same time, we need to remain resilient. Even though we all faced the loss of job, we do have the ability to recover quickly from it. Continue reading
Holy Week
This is my favorite week all year as God leads us from Palm Sunday into Good Friday and then through the joy of Easter. It’s an emotional week on all counts. If you feel like you’re on a roller coaster, my advice is just go with it. It’s supposed to happen. Continue reading
Letting Go Is Hard to Do
Man, there’s just something that I just can’t let go of and I don’t know why. And yup, it deals with a matter of the heart. I’ve been praying about it consistently to God and am asking for him to dig up the root so we can cast it away…but it still torments me. Continue reading
Upload New Version Automatically
A common blog function is upgrades. As new bells and whistles are added or as bugs are fixed to your blog templates, a new upgrade notice appears on your control panel. When a notice notifies the blogger of an upgrade, they can either choose to hit button that says “Upgrade Automatically” or “Manual.” The Manual operation allows you to control the upgrade…it doesn’t completely override the system in case you had implemented custom codes. But, I like the auto function. And the last time I upgraded I thought wouldn’t that nice to have an auto upgrade button in our lives that we could hit to grow more like Christ. If so, then just like that we would have grown without experiencing much pain and it would be fast. We’d be on to the next level, waiting for a new upgrade to get that set of bugs out. Unemployed Or Is It a God Appointed Sabbatical?
So if God have given me two decades of work – and now – is giving me a decade of sabbatical rest – can I trust him in that? I know it’s God will for me to be without study employment at the moment, but I never saw it as truly a gift for him of rest. For me to get my soil rich again – to give it a breather so it can gain nutrients that have been depleted over the years. He’s ordained this. He wants me to rest. Rest in him. Trust him.
